Paternoster Place

We found the place just okay and weren’t raving about it. The accommodation felt makeshift, especially the one-bedroom unit, and it needs a makeover. Disappointing.

I’m left without accommodation after this booking was cancelled, even though we’ve already booked our flights. Options in Paternoster are very limited this late in the year, so a possible full refund doesn’t solve the problem. I booked through Airbnb on 2 September 2025, and contacted the accommodation on 3 September. They confirmed they would honour the booking despite the incorrect Airbnb price. Then on 8 December, Justin, one of the owners, messaged to say it was cancelled because the property had changed ownership. When I asked Helena, who had confirmed it, she said I’d never contacted them and there was no booking in their system. It’s been a very disappointing customer experience. If they were going to cancel, they should have done it much earlier. I’d be cautious about booking with them, as they haven’t been reliable even though I’d paid in full.

A lovely place for a holiday or a weekend away.

Justin was a very friendly host. This cottage-style accommodation has on-site parking for several cars, and the beach is about a three-minute walk away. Shops and a pub are within walking distance too.
