Tabs, the Hospitality Manager, helped keep everything comfortable and easy, and the whole team made us feel like family. We spent a full week at Mount Camdeboo Game Park Reserve, and it really did feel like home. The food was delicious, the staff were caring and welcoming, and every part of the stay felt special. We saw an amazing range of wildlife on the game drives. Our ranger Marten looked after us throughout the week and found new highlights for us each day. His knowledge of nature and wildlife impressed us, and we’ll hold onto those memories for a long time. We’d happily recommend Mount Camdeboo and hope to return. Thank you to the whole team!

Staying in a pod with a friend put us right among the quiet and beautiful nature of the Savana, with amazing views all around. There was even a hot tube for an outdoor bath. We went on safari rides each morning and evening and saw rhinos, lions, elephants, zebras, and cheetahs. Martin was a great guide, and the other staff were friendly too. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a safari.

The food was a real highlight during our two nights in the Pod at Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all delicious and nicely presented, and the oxtail stew one evening was out of this world. The team also surprised me with an incredible birthday cake and made a real effort to make my birthday feel special. Luke made our game drives informative and adventurous. We were thrilled to see both lions and elephants. The one small snag was the pod shower, where the temperature control swung between steaming hot and ice cold. It barely took away from an otherwise memorable stay. Highly recommend Mount Camdeboo for a luxurious safari.

We were lucky to see a male lion eating a recent kill, then had a Mexican standoff with a few rhino coming back down the mountain after sundowners. The setting was beautiful, and the stay was good value for money. Service was great, the food was lovely, and the bed was comfortable. After a cold game drive, those hot cloths were especially welcome, as were the toasty fires in the lounge and dining room.

Colin was a fantastic guide and ranger on our mostly private game drives, and great to talk with too. We saw all the Big Five during our three nights in Pod 2, and loved the landscape, food, and warm welcome. It was hard to leave and get back to reality, and we would have stayed all week if we could. Mount Camdeboo is less accessible than some other reserves in the Eastern Cape, but the views and hospitality more than made up for that. We hope to return one day.
