The restaurant let the stay down. Its staff weren't very friendly, and the service was poor. I ordered fried eggs but got dry eggs that seemed reheated in a microwave, not fresh. I hope management improves the restaurant. The reception team, on the other hand, were warm, welcoming, professional, and made me feel comfortable as soon as I arrived. I stayed at Road Lodge for two nights, and the reception staff were amazing.

The breakfast spread made up for the meat in my dish, which was hard for me to chew. That part is personal, though, since someone with more teeth might have managed it. Parking had plenty of space for the extended HD Vehicle I operate, and the stay was comfortable. A small fridge in the room would be a plus. I'll come back soon and order something different next time.

We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the place. The whole team was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Management deserves a special thanks, as do the receptionist for making check-in smooth and housekeeping for keeping everything spotless.

We had a lovely time, 10/10. The manager was so friendly, and everyone was helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was divine. A mini microwave in the rooms would be great. I wish more places had staff this friendly and welcoming. Kelly Samlall

Mr Siyabonga, the 'front desk co ordinator' at Road Lodge Pietermaritzburg/Hayfields, went out of his way to make us comfortable and was so friendly. Thank you, Mr Siyabonga. Keep up the good service!
