Tancredi Bed and Breakfast

There was a homely feel, and the staff were friendly. My room had air conditioning, an ensuite, a safe, a kettle and a comfortable mattress; they brought an extra blanket when I asked. The linen was clean and the room was cleaned daily. There was a pool and secure parking inside the property. Breakfast was budget-friendly, and a shopping centre with franchise food outlets was just a minute away.

The friendly, hardworking staff were the one bright spot, especially since there were only two staff for the whole place. The rest felt neglected under the new ownership. It may once have been beautiful, but now it's old, dated, smelly and badly in need of a full revamp. The beds were old and uncomfortable, the cheap old pillows left my neck sore, and the walls and bathrooms were dirty and needed serious painting. Even reception looked very old, and there was no card machine. I was woken after midnight by arriving guests, who played music and made noise for an hour or two. There didn't seem to be visitor rules. It's rated four stars online, but felt more like one. It isn't worth the price or the trouble, and the current owners seem nowhere to be seen.

The place is easy to reach by meter taxi, and Mr Delivery is available too. It's close to most of the areas people need to visit. Breakfast is served in the house, with guest choices like English or Healthy, and there's a swimming pool with a shady spot to sit beside it. WiFi is free and gets a good signal. It's warm, clean and friendly here, and the staff are so helpful they go extra miles to meet your needs. You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.

I loved the room, but the air-con stayed cold even when set to 32, so I ended up using my small heater. Maybe it needs checking once in a while. The reception and kitchen could also use some tidying and updating. I'd suggest being friendlier on the phone too, so guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
