The game drives were fantastic, and two nights gave us four drives, which felt like enough. We loved the gorgeous rooms and the intimate feel of such a small, carefully run place with just five rooms. The staff noticed every detail and made us feel really special, almost like royalty. One small thing: after brunch at 10, there's nothing to eat until high tea at 4. That’s fine for many people, but jet lag left me pretty hungry, so a little snack or lunch beforehand would help. Still, I totally loved it and would happily do it again. It suited us much better than a big, westernized lodge with 200-plus guests. Go ahead and book if you’re after a romantic stay :)

The only part that left us uncomfortable was the departure. As we were getting ready to go and hoping to write in the guestbook, we were told about a park maintenance fee that hadn’t been mentioned earlier, or at least hadn’t been made clear enough for me to remember. I wish we’d heard about it at the start. We also felt a little hurried along and didn’t get to write in the book, which was a regret. The stay itself was wonderful, though, and the service was thoughtful and attentive throughout. Marcia was a super host, and the whole team was lovely. We arrived to a welcome drink and a light lunch, the chefs made great food, and the room stayed spotless the entire time. The game drives were great too, and Sean was friendly with everyone and happy to answer our questions. This is without a doubt the best place we’ve ever stayed.

Martin made the game drives phenomenal. He knew the area inside out and was very knowledgeable about plants, animals, and birds. The food and drinks were excellent, too. Everyone at Tambuti Lodge was welcoming and helpful, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Thanks to all at Tambuti for a wonderful time.

Comfy beds, loads of great food, wonderful staff, and a great safari stay. It was a 10/10 and went well beyond what we expected. I’ll be back here, and this is the only lodge I’ll recommend to anyone considering a visit.

Martin is a remarkable safari guide, packed with knowledge on just about every subject. Our drives were really successful, and he patiently answered every question, even when we repeated ourselves or asked something silly. He never made us feel judged. He drives safely, tracks animals and reads their behavior brilliantly, and spots them around the park. His vehicle was spotless and had water, blankets, and fleece-lined ponchos ready so we stayed comfortable. He was professional and considerate of the other lodges and safari vehicles. When we got back, Marcia was there with a warm or cool scented towel and a real interest in hearing how the drive went. Those little touches made each outing feel special. The food was another highlight. Edith and BK are exceptional chefs, and Edith’s home-baked sweets are amazing. The menu changes every day and is posted by the shared tea and coffee station, so you can look forward to the meals from the morning. There was always something delicious, and we were never left hungry. Housekeeping seemed to work like ninjas. Our room was always spotless, with the blinds lowered at night, the bed turned down, fudge on the pillow, fresh towels, and laundry collected and returned clean and folded. Those thoughtful details made us feel very spoiled. The lodge is beautiful, with a traditional feel, a pool, and lovely shared spaces. It holds up to 10 guests a night, so it never felt crowded, and there was no pressure to socialize. We had great fellow guests and staff, though, and the relaxed, well-planned days made it easy to laugh, chat, and share photos. Even as an introvert, I really enjoyed that time. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean. It had a comfortable bed, a safe, indoor and outdoor showers, a separate bath, tea and coffee, and great air conditioning for hot afternoons. The blinds and lodge layout also gave us privacy, and daily laundry was included. We had everything we needed. The daily schedule was well balanced, with safari time, meals, and downtime arranged with just enough flexibility. Marcia gave us a lovely welcome and orientation when we arrived. She was genuinely warm, confident, and professional, and helped us understand what the lodge offered. Thank you to everyone, especially Marcia, Edith, Martin, and BK. The memories you gave me with my husband and parents will stay with me forever.
