The setting is wonderfully secluded, surrounded by beautiful nature and away from traffic and noise, but it's still easy to get around. The reception staff know the local attractions and can call ahead to help book a tour. There's also the backpackers bar if you're in the mood for company and a party. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, the lovely rooms, the food, the views, and the friendly staff. They even showed us around the different outdoor levels so we could find a good sunset spot, then pointed out where to sit by the open fire pit and see the clear, star-filled sky. It was so romantic. A must if you're near Plettenberg Bay.

The views over the dam from the deck were breathtaking, and we really enjoyed our stay. Everyone was warm and helpful. The self-catering setup could be improved, though.

We had a great time sharing a braii with a big group, and the sunset views were amazing. The room was clean, spacious, and looked out over the robberg peninsula. The chef was lovely and always ready to help, and Thomas, a volunteer, was very nice too. Staff were helpful throughout. The place could use a bit of maintenance. It's easy to find, though the last 2km are dirt road, which was fine in a normal car.

Those views! Who needs books when you can look at scenery like that? There weren't many books in English, which is the one thing I'd mention, but everything else was great: the food, the clean rooms, and how helpful everyone was. It is a long way out, but they make everything possible. I had an amazing two days.

The deck view is the best I've ever seen, and I can't find words for how amazing the experience was. I'm really glad I picked African Array Backpackers Lodge while I was in Plett. The staff were incredibly helpful and so friendly.
