Piesang Valley Lodge

After several trips, this is one of my favourite stays along the Garden Route, and my favourite in Plettenberg Bay so far. The rooms are cozy and the setting is beautiful. It's a short drive to the sights, and the place is worth staying a little outside town for. The owner is a wonderful example of South African hospitality. If you want a home away from home in Plettenberg Bay, look no further.

John and Annie did their best to make us comfortable, and John shared some good ideas for places to see. The view is amazing, and the gardens and pool are beautiful. My only complaint was that the bedding and bathroom in the rooms we booked could use an upgrade. Breakfast was English breakfast.

John was extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. He knows nearly everything about the Garden Route and had some excellent suggestions. The location is good, and breakfast was decent, though after a few days it got repetitive because there weren't many options. The rooms could use some improvement, especially the bathrooms and bedding. I also found things quite dusty, which would definitely affect people with allergies.

John isn't from Plettenberg Bay, but he's a real original. He knows the area from Cape Town to Gqeberha, and clearly has firsthand knowledge because he travels around himself. He shared so much information that we quickly decided to extend our stay by two nights. The location is safe, the pool and rooms are clean, the grounds are well kept, and breakfast is a lovely way to start the day. Keep up the good work, John. We'll be back to Piesang Valley Lodge in Plettenberg Bay.
