Garden Court Polokwane

At Garden Court, the receptionist gave me a warm welcome, and the waiters and waitresses were cheerful. Their hospitality made me feel valued, and I had a pleasant stay. The only drawback was that there was no bottled water in my standard room. When I asked, I was told it isn’t provided, so I had to buy my own. Fortunately, OK Express is nearby.

I’ve just checked in and still have three more nights here, but the service has already been very poor. I waited over 30 minutes at reception because the hotel is packed and only one person was working there. Management seems fine with guests waiting while that one lady deals with everyone’s concerns. 🤦🏽‍♀️

The chefs seem to cook without putting the client or their money first. The rooms also weren’t cleaned properly, and the old carpet, curtains and stained chairs made me worry, especially with the nearby activities. This place is in a hot province and not ideally located, yet they told me there was no fridge and didn’t suggest another option. Only when I said I’d ask for a cooler box did the manager offer to lend me hers.

There was no lotion or water in the bathrooms, and the room phones weren’t working properly. The keys were a problem too: I had to walk back and forth three times from the last block. I’m not pleased with this hotel anymore.
