Sasavona Boutique Hotel

I love this place. The atmosphere is cozy and luxurious, and it feels like a five-star spot as soon as you walk in. It’s easy to miss, though, since the hotel is tucked away in a dingy part of town, with hookers and all. The food isn’t really five-star level, and service is friendly but very slow, so don’t arrive hungry 😄 The brownie and cheese cake are absolutely the best. I don’t remember hearing background music, but it’s a perfect hidden spot worth your money.

We went for dinner with friends, but the service was way too laid-back and a lot of the dishes listed on their own menu weren’t available. The place feels very private and intimate, so it might be a perfect outing for a couple, but not for a group of friends. If they sort out the service and food availability, it could be great.

The water is always a problem in the morning, and it’s always cold. The staff keep giving excuses. This is the second time the manager has treated us unfairly. She’s disrespectful and extremely arrogant, and I don’t think she deserves to run the place. She’ll run the business down.

It was my birthday and I wanted to try somewhere new, but this turned into the worst birthday of my life. The service was very poor, and I regret going. The woman at reception looked lost and confused, and the welcome was awful. When we asked about the restaurant, we were told the chef was out. We had to ask them to call him, and when he finally arrived, he was also the bartender. Our cocktails took forever, and while he made them no one was preparing the food. Then he went off to cook. The portions were small. My partner asked for a well done rump steak, but it was burnt outside and raw inside. We wanted crumbed mushrooms as a starter and mushroom sauce, but they had no mushrooms. My partner wanted a 500g rump steak, but they only had 300g, even though both were on the menu. They also said there was no juice for the cocktails. Our waiter, Morongwa, at least tried to give us good service, but by then it was too late. For a five-star place, I’m really disappointed. My rating is more like 2/10.
