The garden and pool made for a lovely place to relax, and the rooms were spacious enough, with a charming African style. Wim and Nicky made us feel very welcome and were always available if we needed help. Breakfast had pretty much everything you could want, and Nicky was happy to make something special too. We had a very pleasant stop at Babette.

It’s in a lovely part of town, well placed for a walk, and the accommodation is both stylish and comfortable. The owners were warm and welcoming, always happy to help, and breakfast was delicious. We even got Dutch apple pie and the recipe ;) Highly recommend staying here!

We stayed last weekend for a cycle race in Swellendam, and Wim and Nicky went above and beyond. Wim spent much of the day driving as our support vehicle, making sure we had plenty to eat and drink, and took some amazing photos of us. The rooms were tidy and clean, with comfortable beds and the essential Nespresso machine. Restaurants are within walking distance, and Wim and Nicky thoughtfully sent us suggestions a few days before we arrived. Highly recommend staying here.

The Dutch couple were fantastic hosts, and I’d gladly come back on another trip. This little gem has individually decorated rooms, a lovely breakfast, and a great mountain view.

My colleague and I found our stay at Babette satisfactory. The hosts were friendly, the setting was quiet, and the themed rooms were well furnished and decorated. The lush garden, Wi-Fi, and pool added to a basic but pleasant experience. For the price, we suggest a TV in every room and proper air conditioning, since a fan isn’t enough in Swellendam’s sweltering summer heat. Also, when a guest’s first commitment is at 08h00, breakfast should be available by at least 07h15. The earliest we could get it was 07h30. These are suggestions to improve the guest experience.
