We hit bad weather on Friday, so we stayed inside, and on Saturday Port Alfred ran out of water. We chose to bathe in the ocean instead, so check the water situation before going. There’s no pool or braai facilities, but it’s still five out of five from me. What a place! The views are amazing from up on the hill, and you can pretty much see the whole place. There are activities available and everything you need. The owners are really friendly, though after the meet and greet you won’t see them again. This is the spot, guys!

The house and rooms were good, with no complaints there. The owners' hospitality, though, was so disappointing. I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a guesthouse as I did at Dockside. They said they’d show us how to get around but didn’t, and the last we saw of them was when they handed over the key. I’m extremely disappointed and doubt I’ll ever stay there again.

Pat was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bedroom had scenic views, and the linen was clean and comfortable. A go-to place for travellers visiting Port Alfred.

From the lounge you can look out over the harbour. Des' & Pat are superb hosts, so kind and friendly.
