Breakfast is brought to your patio table each morning, and it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. Graham and Ditte are fantastic hosts. Kowie River House backs onto the river in a stunning spot, and our room was luxurious and spotless, with a really good bathroom and shower. If you’re visiting Port Alfred, you won’t do better.

We’d happily recommend this quiet Port Alfred getaway. The accommodation is very well kept, and the location is ideal if you want some peace. The hosts were so welcoming, and it’s clear they take pride in the service they provide.

The pool was spotless, but the water was very old, so we couldn’t swim. The owner gave us an Easter basket with lovely hot cross buns on Easter Sunday, which was so heartwarming. What a lovely lady. The family room was beautiful, with a stunning spacious bathroom, modern, tidy surroundings, and really comfortable beds.

I had to leave at 4 am the next morning, and they made me a breakfast parcel. Fantastic service. I’d booked late, but the owner greeted me warmly at the door, showed me the beautiful place, and made me feel welcome.
