Thorntree Lodge

The place itself was clean, nice, and quiet. Getting there was the problem: the roads are a major turn-off, and I’d avoid it in a non-4x4. The signs from the main gate and around the plot need improving. We weren’t sure we were still on the right track and missed a turn or two.

The lodge was neat, but also very dirty. There were holes in the curtains and bedding, and the toilet had very weak water pressure. The road leading there was in very bad shape too.

We were eight people looking for a short break from the city, and Thorntree was just what we needed. The owners were delightful and made us laugh while giving us wonderful hospitality. The shared area had everything we could need, even a washing machine, plus a small kids’ play area and a fire pit for telling stories. Every room was great, with a choice of two singles or a queen bed. The queen rooms had both a bath and a shower, and each room had its own ensuite bathroom. A peaceful getaway, for sure.

Thorntree Lodge was so clean and neat, and we had a really relaxing stay. I had the best time there in May, and I’m happy to say we’re heading back now. You can’t go wrong with a visit.
