The price makes sense after seeing the place, and I won’t be back. They call it a boutique hotel, but the intercom didn’t work, nobody was at the gate when we arrived, and construction workers were the first people to welcome us. The building looks very old and needs a revamp. Our room smelled stale, like it hadn’t been used in a long time. The curtains were messy and wouldn’t close, the TV didn’t work, and the kitchenette had an old rusty microwave and a tiny old hotplate. The older woman who owned the place had to push the manual gate open for us. It didn’t feel safe at night, since someone could easily follow you in and mark you.

The room was large and well equipped, with a quality bed and furniture, and the welcome at reception was lovely. Staff even made breakfast half an hour earlier than usual to fit my early departure. It was a fantastic stay from arrival to leaving, five stars all round.

The breakfast was delicious, the service was great, and the location is handy for local shops and fast food places. The rooms are beautiful, though the outside doesn’t look as appealing. The WiFi was quite bad, unfortunately, and the air-conditioning in my particular room wasn’t working.

The staff were very welcoming. It’s an old building, but clearly well maintained, which made for a nice stay. The rooms are superbly furnished and really spacious, with plenty of room to move around.

The gardens are lovely, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. This place feels like a time capsule holding its own amid the fast-paced surroundings. It’s ideally situated near the US, UAE, Ghana, DRC and Mali embassies, as well as the train station, health facilities and shops.
