Bo Heimia Guesthouse

The rooms are clean and neat, with the basics, but nothing fancy. The TV was a letdown, and there was no microwave or steamer when I needed one. I also didn't like how far it was from town. Still, it's okay if you only need somewhere to sleep after a busy day.

I couldn't sleep there at all, even though I'd paid for two nights. The host's description didn't match what I found: there was no WiFi, no TV in the room, and the bed was like a student's bed. The pictures seemed to be from when the place was new, and you have to go to the hall to watch TV. I only discovered this after paying. On the first day, I politely asked the host to refund at least one night. She texted that she'd see me the next morning, but she wasn't there when I arrived. Instead, she had her neighbor collect the key and refused a refund. I asked her to return the key so I could stay until the day my money ran out, but she didn't. She said someone else was moving in and had already cleared my room. That's really bad.

This was our second time at this lovely guesthouse, and it's still my first choice in Pretoria whether I'm travelling alone or with family. The owner gave us a personal welcome, and the atmosphere felt warm and homely.

The guesthouse is centrally located, and the accommodation is spacious and very tidy. I'd recommend it.
