We spent four days at Brookyard Guest House in Brooklyn, Pretoria, and had a great stay. The location was convenient for shops, restaurants and other amenities, while still being quiet and secure. The rooms were well maintained, clean and comfortable, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind after busy days exploring the area. Staff were friendly, professional and always ready to help. Thanks for the lovely hospitality, we'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Pretoria.

We rented the family room at Brookyard Stay and were very happy with the service Sean gave us. The room was spacious and clean, the location was great and close to shops, and the yard was beautiful and well kept. It's a self-catering room with a microwave and fridge but no stove. We brought our portable Bushbaby gas canister stove, so we could still cook and make good use of the other amenities.

I spent a week there and was incredibly pleased with the service. All the staff were so nice and welcoming. 10/10 BnB, highly recommend.

I don't understand the five-star reviews. The place looked nothing like I expected from the pictures, which seemed to show its best side. We couldn't even find some of the features shown, like the lovely loft room. My wife and I booked a “King” room with specific photos attached, expecting to be shown that room. Instead, we were taken to a dark, cramped budget room in an outhouse, with barely any space around the bed. It had an air conditioner, at least. I showed the woman who brought us in the pictures of the room we'd booked and asked to move. The difference was night and day. She said someone who'd arrived just before us had taken it. I told her the dingy room wasn't what we'd paid for. At first she said nothing could be done, but after I pushed, we were moved to an inside room with a king bed and a single bed. It was a big improvement, but still disappointing. The shower had unfinished wall tiles, there was no TV, air conditioning or even a fan, and there were no cupboards for clothes. A dead fly was on the bar fridge shelf. The bedside lamp had no bulb, and staff couldn't find a replacement. Light from the communal area came through the clear window above the door, and the pillows were really crap, so we didn't sleep well. The bed was just basic wooden planks screwed together for a base. The next day we were moved again, this time to the room we'd booked, and spent the next two, more comfortable nights there. Even in that room, there was nowhere to unpack clothes and no soap, so we had to ask housekeeping again, as we had the night before. Bring your own two-prong plug to charge devices. Despite asking, we couldn't get teaspoons. The plates provided didn't fit in the tiny microwave, which could fit a side plate at best, but there weren't any side plates. A downlighter was hanging loose from its fitting, and there were no hand towels at all. Since rooms aren't serviced daily, you may have to ask for a third towel for your hands or a fourth to use as a floor towel after a shower. The rooms feel unfinished, with practical gaps in the design and finishing. I found the decor nothing special, with cheap, standard-looking pictures on the walls. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and the location is fairly central. Those are about the only positives. One review mentioned breakfast, but we weren't offered any, and there's no kitchen or breakfast service that we could find. I reckon AI faked it 😉

The meal came out quickly, was perfect, and tasted so fresh.
