The place was beautiful and clean, but the service spoiled my birthday plans with friends, and I didn’t enjoy the day. There was a mix-up on their end, yet the manager blamed me and was very rude on the phone. The receptionist or caretaker also screamed at me on the phone. You shouldn’t speak to customers that way when they’re bringing you business. Olga Moroane

The place itself is nice, and I’m sure guests sleep well on nights without drunken parties. But beware of Gustav. After a country concert, we got back at 10:30 and tried to sleep while a pool party carried on outside. It didn’t die down. Around 12pm, my husband called Gustav to ask whether there were rules and warn him we couldn’t sleep. He didn’t answer, so my husband left a message. Frustrated, my husband leaned out the window and said, “please sush, there are people trying to sleep.” He didn’t swear. Gustav called back, seemed drunk himself, and accused him of not greeting him at reception. We’d arrived later than planned, after Gustav had left, and my husband apologized in case he’d missed him by mistake. Gustav never came to deal with the party or the sleep problem. Instead, he focused on my husband not greeting him. Even if he’d been there, how would my husband know which person was the owner and which was a guest? It’s Gustav’s job to meet and greet guests. We finally left after party guests tried to get into our room. I messaged Gustav to explain why we were leaving, but he didn’t reply. The next day I asked what had happened. He eventually called and offered us an extra day at cologne, but I said there was no way we’d come back. Then he accused us of not greeting him, saying my husband had suddenly started wearing glasses and a grey shirt. Worse, Gustav claimed my husband and I had a domestic violence fight and then swore at the drunken guests. That’s laughable. My husband has 20/20 vision and has never worn glasses. I was there and he didn’t swear at anyone. He was frustrated, yes, but anyone who knows him knows he’s loving and kind to me. I don’t swear either. When I asked where Gustav got this story, he said the drunken pool party guests told him. Would we really leave his guesthouse and pay for somewhere else at 12:30 in the morning just because we felt like it? I don’t think so. Did we leave so I could be beaten at another guesthouse, with different onlookers? I really don’t think so. We left because we couldn’t sleep and the owner didn’t seem to care about the property or his guests’ sleep. When there’s a party, Gustav seems unprofessional and unavailable, and unable to take responsibility for problems at his guesthouse. He resorted to made-up attacks to hurt and frustrate us and make himself feel better.

Had such a wonderful time with my friends. The service was great, thanks to Rethabile and Tina, who even washed my clothes. We’ll definitely come again. 😍😍😍😍🖒❤❤
