Guesthouse Threebees

The view from the braai area is lovely, and there are comfortable chairs there. The Wi-Fi is great, and I love the swimming pool. The staff are professional, friendly, and keen to help. Master is the absolute best, always willing to go the extra mile. They treat you like family.

There’s a lot of potential here, but the owners don’t seem to care. The reception was warm and friendly, but the aircon, shower door, and kettle were broken, the toilet was leaking, and coffee, tea, and soap were out of stock. With some care and maintenance this could be a wonderful guest house. As it is, it feels neglected.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. It may once have been a beautiful home, but now the building is run down and broken. We kept in touch about our arrival time, yet the staff didn’t stay up for us. The room wasn’t prepared as requested, breakfast didn’t exist, and the cool drinks machine was broken. They couldn’t even offer cold water. The towels were dirty, the shower was filthy, and the whole building was unclean. I won’t return to this so-called guest house.

We paid R1300 for a disastrous stay, and I wouldn’t return or recommend this place to anyone who expects breakfast with their bed. We had to cook our own eggs. Only one table was set for breakfast, so we moved the placemats and crockery ourselves to sit together as a family rather than join another guest already eating. We’d booked two rooms at their other facility, but on Thursday they moved us because a group extended its stay. I think they’d messed up the booking. At Threebees, they initially expected four adults to share one room, despite our payment for two. After much persuading, they gave us another room and refunded R200 for the inconvenience. One room’s bathroom lights didn’t work, and our room door was extremely difficult to lock and unlock. When we left, there was no management on site to discuss it with. I emailed my concerns right away and waited six months for a response, with no apology. The owner or management still hasn’t apologized or refunded me for the stay. A year later, after another follow-up email, there was still no apology, but they did refund R300.
