Lerato Bush Lodge

A great spot to sleep while in Pretoria, with a really good location. It's quiet and feels very safe, and there are good restaurants nearby as well as shops for the things you need.

The staff were incredibly kind from the start. They made me feel at home, lent me a book, and even went with me to the supermarket. Still, the way my booking was handled was unacceptable. I'd reserved an apartment three months ahead, but when I arrived, they said the lodge was full and put me in a room instead. Two days later I was switched to another room, then soon after sent to a completely different place, Sunset View Lodge, because they again said they were at capacity. The room was cramped, the shower pressure was weak, and it wasn't well insulated. The lodge is on a hill, which made bringing up my luggage difficult, though the staff did help with it.

We've been at Lerato Bush Lodge for nearly a year now, and it really feels like home away from home. We plan to stay here throughout our time in Pretoria. The garden is lovely, there's a warm pool, and the dogs are friendly. Mies and Martin are the best hosts we've come across in the country. They treat us so well, check that we have what we need, and sort out anything broken or not working straight away. The lodge views are amazing. Friends we've made in Pretoria can't believe it's right in the middle of the city centre. It works so well for either a short visit or a long stay. Highly recommend it if you're coming to Pretoria.

The view from the balcony over the city was mesmerizing, especially at sunset. The lodge had all the furnishings and just about everything you could need. Unlimited upgraded WiFi and DSTV kept me entertained during the COVID lockdown, and the laundry service was excellent. I spent all of 2020 at Lerato Bush Lodge after relocating from KZN to Gauteng. I was worried about finding somewhere safe and secure, but Mies and Martin welcomed me warmly and made the place feel lovely from day one. The scenery was beautiful, and the three friendly dogs became great company during the year. Mies and Martin kept checking that things were taken care of. If I needed anything or something needed maintenance, it was handled promptly and professionally. I was also grateful for how compassionate they were. When the interprovincial travel ban came in, they let my sister join me during lockdown at short notice. It was a good place to isolate, and I could go to work knowing she was safe, with the three playful dogs around and Mies and Martin available if she needed anything. It was an incredible stay, and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in Gauteng again.
