Petal Faire Cottage

Such a peaceful, therapeutic spot, full of plants and with outdoor space. It felt safe getting there, and the host was kind. It's about 10-15 minutes at most from both the Gautrain station and the University of Pretoria. I loved it and only wish I could've stayed longer.

We chose this place for business at DIRCO, just five minutes away. The rooms had the necessities, plus Wi-Fi, a fridge, TV, kettle, and safe parking, in a fairly quiet, safe area. But TV noise from another room carried clearly late into the night and kept us awake. We visited in early September, so the garden wasn't at its best, though the place still looked a bit neglected. Our hostess kindly fitted us in at the last minute, but could have been friendlier, more polite, and more professional.

Leone, the generous and enthusiastic owner, knows an incredible amount about plants, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are good, and the selection of rare, hard-to-find plants is huge. Many are plants you won't find elsewhere in the country. For anyone who loves plants, this nursery is a must-see. I've never seen its equal in SA.

We were warm and comfortable in the self-catering cottage at Petal Faire when we stayed in May. It was spotlessly clean, with an attractive garden. We also got a recommendation for a great taxi driver who took us safely wherever we needed to go.
