Waterkloof Guest House

We’ll definitely book at Waterkloof Guesthouse next time we’re in the area, and recommend it to others. The place is beautiful and peaceful, with outstanding service. Even though they were fully booked, Kabelo at reception treated us with real kindness and professionalism after we arrived in Waterkloof following a stressful evening, with almost no phone battery and nowhere to go. He warmly welcomed us, helped charge my phone, and called around to find us somewhere else to stay since we don’t know Pretoria. His help made a huge difference when we were feeling overwhelmed. Highly recommended.

The biggest issue was how hard it was to get a response. I tried repeatedly to arrange the airport shuttle listed in the description, but they rarely replied and only did so after I pushed. I never got an answer about airport pickup, so I gave up and cancelled through Expedia, where I’d booked. I cancelled within the policy, but the hotel didn’t refund me. Expedia says the hotel has to process it. They didn’t answer my messages, and since I cancelled on time after they failed to respond, it feels like they stole my money.

The breakfast was excellent, and there’s a coffee room open all day where you can help yourself. We really enjoyed staying with them and would definitely come back if we need to go to Club hospital again.

We stayed in room 4, and it was a very disappointing experience, nowhere near five-star quality. The walls had water damage and need urgent maintenance. The kitchenette tiles were dirty, and it only had two cups and saucers, with no teaspoons or other cutlery or crockery.
