Mdluli Safari Lodge

The game drives were a real highlight, fun, organized, and run with great attention to detail. Our luxury tent was lovely and comfortable, and it was kept perfectly clean. The staff were friendly, warm, and always smiling, and the service was impeccable. Food was consistently excellent too. Surrounded by nature, the lodge feels peaceful and thoughtfully laid out. I'd definitely stay again.

There was plenty to like at Mdluli lodge: friendly people at reception, the bar, and housekeeping; comfortable tents; and a lovely outdoor seating verandah. I enjoyed swimming and relaxing by the pool while watching elephants across the valley, and the food was excellent. We took a full-day Game drive from 6am to 3pm. It was good, though I wasn't especially impressed with our driver/guide. The bigger disappointment was the freight train line just outside Kruger NP, not far from Mdluli. It was noisy all night, so I needed ear plugs, which I hadn't expected.

The tents at Mdluli Safari Lodge are beautifully designed, with tasteful, luxurious decor that made our stay feel distinctive and memorable. It's a lovely lodge with a lot of potential, and we still enjoyed our visit. The game drives were enjoyable, but they felt quite expensive for South Africans, and we didn't see much wildlife. The food was okay, though it could be improved to match the accommodation. Better value or more consistent game drives, along with a stronger dining experience, would make a difference.

We stayed for three nights in November, and seeing the big 5 was a thrill. The guides we went out with were friendly and experienced, and offered different length game rides every day while doing their best to show us as much as possible. The gorgeous room, peaceful setting, swimming pool, and amenities were all great. We were well fed and well looked after, and really loved our stay. 10/10 recommend!
