Lunch and dinner are shared meals, which makes it nice to chat with other guests. The food, rooms, and pool were excellent, and the staff were cheerful, attentive, and happy to help with anything. Grace deserves a special mention for always smiling and being so lovely. It’s a great base for battlefield tours, though keep in mind the road is unpaved when choosing a vehicle. The talks about the battles were fascinating, even for people who aren’t especially into history, and the amount of knowledge was unbelievable. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The excursions and lectures on the Anglo-Zulu wars were mind-blowing, and the lodge was clean, the food delicious, and the quality of everything exceeded all our wildest expectations. It was a holiday of a lifetime. Huge thanks to the Ratray Family and all your staff for the incredible hospitality.

We spent 2 nights and 3 days here, enjoying the lodge, its atmosphere and location, along with the food, drinks, kuier, and general feeling of wellbeing. The Anglo-Zulu battlefield tours were brilliantly led and explained, with great background too. Brian, Douglas, and the team were much appreciated. KZN summer heat is serious, so be prepared.

We spent 3 days in Paradise at a stunning lodge with incredible hosts. The food and storytelling were fantastic, and I can't imagine a better base for exploring the Anglo Zulu wars. Thanks for making the trip so memorable. The Conyers Family.

We had a lovely two-night stay on our latest trip to South Africa. The staff all came out to greet us, and our gorgeous room had stunning views, a huge comfortable bed, and two big showers, one indoors and one outside. The food and service were excellent. We also took a battlefield tour to Rorkes Drift. Our guide, Brian, had deep knowledge and explained it so well that the visit became even more memorable. We’ll definitely come back for the other battlefield tours.
