Little Milton

The dam recommended for trout fishing wasn’t really fishable because of all the overgrown weeds, and thorny “Braam berry” bushes covered part of the bank. I only caught a few Bass, the smallest I’ve ever seen. Bass aren’t good for a trout dam, but they thrive here. The place itself was very nice and peaceful. The owner and staff went out of their way to accommodate us, we enjoyed our stay, and the breakfast was great.

Little Milton’s breakfast may be the best I’ve had in South Africa, and I’m from the UK. The rooms are great and come with everything you need, plus more. Brett was kind, helpful, and very understanding when lockdown meant we had to change our booking. We stayed twice this year and were so glad we did. A lovely experience, and we couldn’t recommend the place more. We’ll definitely be back.

The grounds and buildings are well looked after, and the breakfast is a real feast. The team is passionate, with friendly, personal service, and the setting is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. I’d happily stay again when visiting the Midlands. We did return, and it was just as pleasant. They really do go the extra mile. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

Dinner was outstanding, and breakfast the next morning was just as delicious. Everything was homemade and prepared with love. The room was comfortable, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Quaint, clean, and peaceful, with friendly, informative hosts to welcome us. It feels like a cosy little home away from home.
