My heart sinks whenever I think about this guest house. I booked and paid R6939.04 online through booking.com, then cancelled within 12 hours. booking.com asked them to make an exception. I called and emailed to ask for a refund, a future stay date, or at least to use the weekend I'd booked and paid for. When it became clear I wouldn't get a refund, I asked management for another option, but they refused to help in any way. They could book the rooms again for someone else while refusing to let me stay, which would mean getting paid twice for them. I'm disappointed and wouldn't recommend a guest house whose management seems uninterested in helping guests or making exceptions to meet their needs. I can't review the property itself because I never got to stay there, and had to find other accommodation.

The quiet suburban setting was lovely, with amenities close by. We had a romantic weekend, made great memories, and are definitely coming back. My lady loved the room and the crystal clear pool, and I appreciated the personal touch from the owner. We enjoyed breakfast too. Echo Garden is a beautiful, homely guest house with great service. We had a wonderful weekend and will use them regularly. Kudos, see you soon.

We stopped in Rustenburg for the night on our drive from Thabazimbi to Sutherland in the Northern Cape. It was already 20h00 and we were tired. The guesthouse is secluded and very quiet, and I slept comfortably. The trouble was that there was no water. Nobody told us when we arrived; we had to ask reception, and were assured it would be back by 20h30. We went to sleep, but in the morning it was still off. My wife then asked again and was told a pipe had burst the day before. Management couldn't be found, so the receptionist had to arrange clean water for us. These things can happen unexpectedly, but management should communicate with guests and have an action plan for situations like this.

I’m in room 4 and really like the atmosphere here. The staff are happy and willing to help, and it’s a beautiful room. We had one power outage, but it lasted only ten minutes. I slept really well. The sheets feel like Egyptian cotton, and there’s Alban plus tea and coffee, a microwave for warming food, and a fridge in the room. The pool is beautifully kept too.
