Sleepover @194

We were drawn in by the central location, but the place is a bit run-down, some things are broken, and the attendant seemed sketchy. There was no welcome. It’s not great, and it should cost less for what it offers.

We drove all the way from Gauteng with our 9-month-old, only to find a room with a single bed. When we called the owner, she said we should have checked the room beforehand and refused a refund. She also said this had happened to other guests before, so why hasn’t it been fixed? We had to leave because we couldn’t make it work. That’s no way to treat guests at a B&B. I was very unhappy.

Room No2 was lovely, with a double bed, A/C, kettle, small fridge and Smart TV. The house also has a water tank, so there’s water around the clock. The shower was the only hassle: hot and cold water pressure differ, making it hard to get a comfortable temperature. It was either too hot or too cold.

Thanks for helping us check in at an unusual hour, and for the clean room and friendly service. You really went the extra mile. We felt so welcome, just like the “Your Home Away From Home” sign says. We enjoyed our stay and will come back and recommend Sleepover @ 194 to our friends.
