Waterval Self-Catering Holiday Home

Although the house is big and spacious, it was very dirty. The yard was clean, but inside there were ants everywhere, filthy mats by the shower and beds, and lounge couches that smelled so bad we didn’t sit on them all weekend. The towels weren’t changed, and the pool was dirty too. There was a spider web in the bathroom corners by the tub from the time we arrived Friday, and the place wasn’t properly cleaned until I pointed it out. We’d booked well in advance, but it didn’t seem like anyone expected us. The cleaners played music loudly on their phones and showed no respect for guests. It’s self catering, yet there were only three pots. I’ll never return or recommend the place.

The swimming pool wasn’t clean, the TV didn’t work, and we had problems with the air conditioning. The access road was terrible.

My whole family loved the house setup and the spectacular view, and the place left them speechless. It’s beautiful, clean, and feels like a home away from home. The owner was very welcoming. They did complain about the distance from Kruger National Park, but you can find what you’d get at a five star hotel at Waterval self catering house /lodge.

Sonja was a wonderful host and always available to help, and thanks to her and the staff who helped with the cleaning. The accommodation was spacious and clean, with spectacular views and shops and restaurants nearby. We’ll definitely come back soon.
