We appreciated how friendly the family and staff were. They made things feel personal, and the food was good. They also gave us the information we needed about the area. The place was clean, which made sense since it had only been open a little over six months, and our room had the things we needed. It’s in a quiet suburb. We’d hoped to spot hippos nearby, but didn’t see any. The room felt tight with a couple of large suitcases, and there weren’t enough towel rails for more than two people. The toilet door doesn’t block sound. If the guesthouse is full, the shared areas could feel cramped.

The room was comfortable, and the hostess really made an effort to make our stay special. The location worked well for visiting the beautiful nature of Isimangaliso. A few things could be better: the pool is very small, and the air conditioning is noisy. For the price, I found it somewhat expensive compared with similar B&Bs in South Africa. Breakfast wasn’t always up to standard, either. For example, the yoghurt was past its expiry date, and some “vache qui rit” cheese portions were partly black.

Pompano guesthouse in St Lucia, KwaZulu-Natal is a peaceful place with friendly, helpful people. I’d recommend staying there. You won’t regret it.

The photos don’t really show how nice the place is. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and everything was simple and extremely clean. Highly recommended.

We arrived and were surprised to find everything in order, just as it should be. The staff were very helpful, and so was the management. Thank you, POMOANO. This is the coziest spot I’ve stayed in, just the best!
