Ian greeted us with his three Schnauzers, and we were pleased right away. The Villa sits in an amazing tropical garden, with an impressive entrance and a small bridge over the local stream or river. Inside there’s an eclectic mix of Bali-inspired treasures and local African icons. The rooms and places to relax were wonderful. There’s a living room, a fully fitted kitchen, and a choice of bedrooms. The Villa seems to comfortably sleep four, with a large double bed in the main room and a twin room. We spent hours switching off on the shaded deck beside the inviting pool. We spotted a local troop of monkeys, and there must be thousands of frogs on the property, though some are so tiny you might mistake one for a speck on the floor. The Schnauzers made a lovely, friendly welcoming committee. Salt Rock beach is very close, and a small row of shops and Siggies German pub/restaurant are an easy walk away. Our two nights went by so quickly. We’d love to find a reason to stay again.

The two-bedroom apartment has luxurious finishes and is fully equipped with all the amenities. The gardens are immaculate, and the owner is warm and friendly. Salt Rock main Beach is just a two-minute walk away. A definite must when visiting the area. Ten stars from us. #weekendgetaway

It felt like home, and the kids had plenty to do. We didn’t have to worry about anything. The host was so friendly, the place was clean, and the pictures showed it accurately.
