Construction was going on right beside my room until 11 pm, and there were plumbing problems too. The WiFi barely worked, and there wasn't even a fridge in the room. I wish they'd mentioned these inconveniences before booking.

Being on the GIBS campus makes this a really convenient place to stay. The staff were fantastic throughout, from reception to housekeeping, and so friendly. Aaron, Sivuyile, Odirile, Gavin and Elizabeth all went out of their way to help me feel comfortable and safe. I also appreciated the backup water tanks and power.

For the price, it's unbeatable, imagine paying $50 for a room in NYC. The frontline staff are wonderful, some of the best anywhere. My room was adequate, with clean bathrooms, firm beds, spotless linen, coffee making facilities and even a hairdryer. I wouldn't recommend the rooms for couples, though, and I'd get rid of the carpets. Don't count on the dining room's hours either, order in or eat somewhere else.

I love this place. The gardens are lovely, and the architecture is stunning, with modern tech throughout. Service was great, and the staff were pleasant, from the gate to the cafe and facilities team.

Ten calls in one day and not a single answer or callback. What kind of hotel doesn't pick up the phone?
