The Maslow Hotel, Sandton

The architecture is what first caught my eye, that triangular shape like cascades. It was my first stay, and the hotel is only about 10 minutes from Sandton City and the Gautrain station. When I got out of the taxi, the concierge guided me to the desk, where the ladies were polite, friendly, and helpful. My room was spacious and warm, and I really liked the crystal wall between the bathroom and bedroom. I asked for an iron and it was at my door within 10 minutes. The gardens and pool are beautiful too. Thanks to the bar waitresses for helping with my stomach problems. Kudos 👏👏. I'd recommend it and would definitely come back.

The location is handy for shopping malls, cafes, and restaurants. My room was small, though, and the bathroom design wasn't good. Water from the tap could easily splash out of the sink, right by the hairdryer. Walking around outside didn't feel safe, so the gym and pool were the options during my stay, but both are very small. There are proper gyms nearby with a lot more room and equipment.

I attended the Blasting and Community event and came away impressed. The session was great, and I learned a lot from the experts and engineers. Thanks.

Breakfast was a horrific experience. The AI music is awful, please stop it. Service has disappeared, so get better staff or just go full robots. And if someone buys food, make sure it's edible. My lamb sausages had bones in them. I wouldn't recommend this place. Management seems focused on government contracts and corporates. Fix it or you'll be finished.
