Westend House

Westend felt like a peaceful break from everyday life. An hour bird-watching from the deck felt like a whole day elsewhere. The house is tucked into indigenous bush, and the bathrooms have huge windows, so you can lie in the bath and watch little birds foraging below. There’s also a private outdoor shower with a beautiful river view. The scenery is spectacular, and there’s plenty of space and all the amenities you need.

We came to Westend House for a long weekend with family and friends, and the house was so comfortable we barely went out. The deck is amazing, and my room opened onto its own private deck with lovely views and plenty of sunshine. From the main deck, you can watch the river all day. We did enjoy walks on the beach and fun trips along the river, though, and the place comes highly recommended. The modern kitchen and living room had everything we needed. I especially liked having a separate TV room and a small kitchen.

For our honeymoon, we spent four nights in the main house. Karin had prepared a lovely arrival gift, which made it feel really special. The house is amazing, tucked away at the end of the street and completely isolated. It’s very well equipped and felt like home almost straight away. A must for bird watchers.

The wild beach is only a few minutes’ walk away, and the whole place feels like a paradise for nature lovers. It’s such a welcoming setup, with a stunning house and incredible river views. I’d come back again and again.
