Planning from Richards Bay could have been stressful, but Maryna kept in touch by calls and emails with such care and competence that everything came together perfectly. Our wedding day went off without a hitch. The venue was stunning, the harvest and gin tables looked beautiful, and the team went above and beyond to handle every request. Maryna, her husband Frans, and their team gave us fantastic service throughout and made us feel at home. The honeymoon suite and guest chalets were pristine and well kept, great value, and had everything needed for comfortable self-catering. We're so grateful for the attention to detail and the wonderful memories at Eagles Nest Resort. Highly recommend it as a beautiful wedding venue with heartfelt hospitality. Thank you so much! 💛

The location is really good, with beautiful views and nature. But the units are clearly outdated and need a lot of refurbishment. The single beds in the second bedroom I stayed in were especially worn and not suitable for an adult. Ants were all over the unit no matter how much we cleaned. I also found a dangerous-looking spider and its babies under my duvet, along with webs. Luckily, I checked before getting into bed. The shower wasn't very good either, and the children's play area needs fixing.

I accompanied a group of seniors to Eagle Nest Resort during 24 - 28 November 2025. Set on hills between Sedgefield and the Garden Route, the resort looks out over the Garden Route Lake District. It's just off the N2 between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, between Wilderness and Sedgefield. The Outeniqua Mountains form the backdrop to three lakes: Lang, Swart en Rondevlei. We stayed in detached, fully equipped self-catering units with private entrances. Each can sleep six, with room for four adults and two children. Ours had two bedrooms, a main room with a queen bed, built-in cupboards, a shower, and a bath. The other spacious room had two single beds and built-in cupboards, plus a pull-out couch for children. There was also a neat fitted kitchen and an indoor braai area. The main building has a dining hall that seats 50, with sliding doors along the side if there are more guests. We chose to have supper there, in the well-lit, spacious, beautifully furnished room. There's also a bridal suite. The resort is pet friendly, with a small daily surcharge. We drove out each day to visit places including Cango Caves (R200), Cango Wildlife (R210), Adventure Land (seniors paid R155 admission fe), and Jubilee's Creek (R70). The resort also has a heated swimming pool. Bring your own swimming tools rather than using the ones supplied in the units. Free WiFi is unlimited, but only available around or close to the main building. The chapel would be perfect for weddings and vow renewals. I'd recommend the resort for a wonderful family holiday.
