Rhodes Lodge

The unit was clean, the bed comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom had enough amenities. It’s a quiet area and good value for the price. There’s a small shopping centre about 500m away, one block over. We needed a simple base for visits to our daughter at the University of Stellenbosch, mainly somewhere affordable to sleep, and Rhodes Lodge suited us. It’s on the Somerset West side of Stellenbosch, near the R44, around 4 km from campus and the CBD. There’s a small garden area for little kids, but this place seems better suited to visitors needing a place to sleep than to a family holiday. It isn’t wheelchair friendly. You park on the street, not in an enclosed area. There are basic security features, including burglar bars, a security gate and a high wall at the back. We’ll definitely stay here again.
