The staff were helpful when we moved to the Cascades, and I appreciated that. The rooms here, though, were dark, tiny, and claustrophobic, barely suitable for two adults, let alone two adults and two kids. The patio was just 1 x 3 metres (3 x 9 feet), with no chairs, facing a retaining wall and a large drain. Everything felt worn and dirty. The air conditioner had about a centimetre of brown grime inside. For a discounted midweek price of around R4500/$300 USD/$400 CAD a night, the standard was shocking. It felt like a cheap European hostel that should cost about 50 euros. We moved straight to the Cascades, which was significantly better, even though it cost R2000 more per night. This place might have been reasonable at R1000-R2000 per night. I can’t believe what they charge. Don’t stay here.

The dam view in the morning was breathtaking, such a lovely breath of fresh air. I had a great stay with my baby. The staff were so welcoming, our room was very clean, and breakfast covered everything we needed. I loved it and will definitely be back soon.

It was nice to walk through the green, well-kept lawns and pathways to the entertainment Center, and the location is handy for the water sports area and a lovely golf course nearby. The rooms themselves are old, though, and things don’t work. The remote wasn’t working, the AC got stuck on and wouldn’t turn off, and the shower drain was clogged. Sun City isn’t what it was in the 2010 era. Management really needs to improve.

The R566 is awful, nearly 100 potholes in a 50km stretch. Even so, we had an amazing first family holiday at Cabanas hotel. We stayed five days, and the rooms were clean and well managed. Whenever I asked for something, it got done. Vally was clean and stunning as always, and the shuttle made it easy to get around the whole resort. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff work so hard and are incredibly friendly. Big thanks to Emanuel and Vincent at cabanas reception 🙌. I’m already planning a return trip with my family. Thanks suncity!

We had a wonderful first stay at The Cabanas, and it won’t be our last. From the porters and concierge to check-in and check-out, everyone was friendly and helpful, and we had no issues. The location is great, the pool has a lively vibe, and the breakfast was good. It felt safe to leave our things around because nobody touched them. The shuttle came when called, and Waterpark, with jetski, quad bike, and mini golf, was just a step away. I’ll definitely recommend The Cabanas. Many thanks to you all.
