Breakfast was the best part for me: the staff were nice, the selection was great, and the seating was lovely. The pool was pleasant too, though the music played loudly all day, sometimes from 7:30 in the morning, and it closed early at 6 pm. The casino wasn’t really our thing, but that was fine. I stayed at Sun City Hotel for a conference in early February and picked it because it looked more upscale than places like the Cabanas. The price felt high, especially for South Africa. Our ground-floor room faced the golf course and had chairs outside, but inside it was badly worn around the furniture, shower and carpet, and smelled damp. It felt more like a 2-star room than a 4-star one. When I politely asked reception if we could change rooms, they just said the hotel was fully booked. They’re renovating and updating the hotel, but if you’re assigned an older room, you still get the construction noise while staying in an old room. It was a very mixed stay, with the negatives outweighing the positives.

The resort was so beautiful that it felt like we’d stepped into another world, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. We had a really wonderful vacation at Sun City Hotel and Resort. Lee, the supervisor, was especially kind and went out of his way to make our stay memorable. Primrose also went out of her way to help us. The whole staff were friendly and attentive, and everything from check-in through check-out ran smoothly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely views of the landscape. We enjoyed the beautiful pool area and the range of dining choices. The service and attention to detail made a real difference, and we’d recommend the hotel to anyone after a relaxing, enjoyable getaway. Thanks to Lee and Primrose for making it so special.

We stayed at Sun City hotel, and the rooms were neat and good quality. Staff were prompt and treated everyone like an MVG, whether we were at reception, the casino or the bar. It’s a great family holiday spot, with food places offering lots of different tastes, and the food was really good. There’s something here for every age, with plenty of activities and entertainment. The resort even has a pharmacy. I found the staff across the different areas helpful and friendly, especially compared with another Sun International resort I visit regularly, which I’d rather not name.

The room and food were both 5/5. There wasn’t a halaal station, but there was a vegetarian section, and Nandos plus a few other places served halaal food. The one thing that bothered me was how impatient a bus driver was with a mother getting off with her newborn. Otherwise, I’d recommend the place 100%. That one person brought my opinion down to 99%.

My family and I had a fun, adventurous stay at Sun City Hotel. The food was amazing, and the refreshed rooms looked beautiful. Staff were professional and friendly the whole time. I’d absolutely love to come back.
