The stars were so clear at night, and we enjoyed the easy 6km and 3km walking routes. We're grateful they let our furry child stay with us. This beautiful stone cottage is off the grid, and we loved having no electricity. There was backup UPS power and LED lights that Juanita replaced daily, but we didn't feel the need to use them except to charge our phone for photos. The gas geyser gave us a warm shower, and there was a gas cooker and fridge. The bedding, linen, and towels were good quality.

It was extremely peaceful at this lovely farm, with wonderful hiking trails and a few surprises along the way. The host was incredibly kind and helpful. My partner and I had a lovely weekend here. Definitely a must if you want to escape reality for a while.

A great Karoo farm experience, just a short distance outside town, with great facilities.

We can't wait for our next visit. The cosy, romantic off-the-grid stone cottage, Saffraan, had a fantastic view and walkways. There was plenty of hot water for the gas shower, a gas stove, LED lights, and more than enough blankets. It was well equipped, and Juanita and her team serviced the chalet every day.

These fully furnished self-catering cottages are just outside town, so the place feels secluded. An exceptional place to stay in Sutherland. Booking ahead is recommended.
