The Whitehouse Inn

The campsite has lovely grass, and the restaurant food was lovely too, served quickly by friendly staff. The people were very friendly overall, and I had a great experience. The ablution facilities were clean, though the stalls are a bit small. Winds in sutherland can get hectic, so come prepared.

There's a large outside area with another bar counter, which probably gets used during busy periods or functions. The pub inside is spacious and very clean, with a good food selection. The staff made me feel welcome straight away. I didn't stay at the inn, but it looked worth staying in. They've put plenty of effort into the decor indoors and out, so take a look around. Campsites are also being built, which should be a bonus. The burger bar is worth trying: the burger is big, well prepared and filling, enough to handle a serious hunger.

The quirky decor is fun, and the bath tub couches are a must try. Service was great, and it's a lovely stop in Sutherland for a cold beer and something to eat. They also have a great warm fire for those really chilly nights.

We placed an order for coffee, a cuppachino, 2x hot chocolates and a tea 50min before their rush hour was due to start, and got the worst service and most unwelcoming atmosphere I've ever encountered. Sorry we troubled you at your establishment!!! We'll never support it again. Shocking!!!! Looking at the bad review history, the owner's attitude problem seems to come up often. The replies to bad ratings give a clear idea of how the establishment and its owner are wired. There are definitely better restaurants in town to support, so don't waste your time here.
