The food was well worth the visit and good value. We asked for iced coffee even though it wasn't on the menu, and I liked it enough to order another. The bobotie was fantastic. My husband said his prawn and chicken curry was the best he'd ever had. Well done to the chef.

At least our daughter had a great time jumping, since the jumping castle was the main reason we went to the Oil Mill restaurant that Saturday. The market had been cancelled because of the weather, and this was the only place with a castle for kids. The meal and service were awful. We weren't expecting much from past visits, but it wasn't busy and still took over an hour for food. My beef burger, which seemed like a safe order, was burnt and tasted like it had half a bag of breadcrumbs in it. My wife ordered a vegetarian 'flammenkuchen' and got one with meat instead, then waited another half hour for the right one. The taste wasn't worth discussing either, who puts ketchup on a flammenkuchen? When we tried to pay, no one was around, so we called a waitress in the shop and got no response. We asked another waitress, still nothing. After about half an hour we gave up, packed up, and went inside to pay ourselves. I can't recommend this place.

The dishes are tasty and nicely prepared, and the food overall is really good. Portions are a bit small for the price, though the quality helps make up for it. The factory shop has very nice products worth a look too. A pleasant place to visit if you're in the area.

We stopped for lunch on the drive from Knysna to Cape Town and were glad we did. The restaurant surroundings are average, and there were lots of flies outside, so we chose to sit indoors. The bobotie and chicken burger were delicious, portions were generous and prices good. The produce was fresh too. Their homemade garlic and mayo sauce is especially tasty, and you can buy it.

Lunch was better than I expected, and the food has improved since our visit a few months ago. Everything was cooked or grilled perfectly. The kids had fun in the play area and on the jumping castle. Service was good too. Our young waitress was friendly and helpful, and got the order right despite the kids' different likes and dislikes.
