The accommodation is basic, but neat and nicely decorated, and Lemberg is good value for money. Each unit has its own braai, though only unit 2 has air-conditioning. All four units share a communal kitchen. You can swim in the dam at your own risk, and I also spotted a small pool. The wine, gin, and brandy tastings are reasonably priced. The R295 cheese platter could have been better: the roosterkoek was stale and the fruit a little overripe. Lemberg wine estate is just outside Tulbagh, down a short gravel road, and worth stopping at for a stay or tasting.

We did a wine tasting and really enjoyed the wines. A few bottles were on special, so we got quite a deal. The waitress was sweet and attentive.

The peaceful atmosphere made it a lovely place to unwind and enjoy nature. Lemberg was beautiful, with stunning views of the horses, and everything was clean and well maintained. We had a lovely visit this weekend and highly recommend it if you're after a serene, picturesque spot.

The Pinotage is an easy, soft drink and only R100 a bottle, so I’d definitely stock up. We tasted several wines and ended up buying nearly all of them. There are some interesting varietals too, including Hungarian Hárslevelü. Our host knew the wines well and was excellent. Bottles run from R100 to R350, which feels like good value. The lovely dogs were a bonus.

The hosts were lovely, and our unit was comfortable. We enjoyed the quiet countryside, peaceful views of the mountains, and the serene setting at Lemberg Wine Estate in Tulbagh. It’s only five minutes from the town centre, which made it a great place to unwind. I’d happily recommend it.
