The place itself is really beautiful, but the meal was a letdown. My child and I both ordered rump steak. Mine was meant to be medium, his well done, but mine came out like well done and his was so overcooked we couldn't cut it. Definitely not worth what they charge. We visited yesterday.

Please be careful about staying at Fairview Hotel. A woman has publicly said that two staff members broke into her room and tried to rape her, and other people in the comments described similar frightening experiences. It sounds like this may have happened before, and management allegedly knew without doing anything. Guests should be able to count on a hotel to keep them safe. If staff pose a threat and management ignores warnings, that is a betrayal. I would not risk staying here when there are other hotels in South Africa.

We had a peaceful stay by the Letaba River, surrounded by lovely gardens and the sounds of nature. The rooms were spacious and nicely furnished, and Fairview Resort has that Afro-Colonial feel. At Le’Thaba Restaurant, we enjoyed hearty South African food and a good choice of drinks. Breakfast had fresh fruit, and the fillet steak was cooked just right. Thabo was our waiter, professional and very friendly, and the service was spectacular. Thank you, Thabo. A lovely mix of country hospitality and luxury, and somewhere I'd recommend.

The pepper steak, a 300g fillet, was especially tasty. We had a wonderful time, and the rooms were spacious and tidy.
