The room smelled unpleasant, and the air conditioners didn’t work. There weren’t any remote controls to operate them, either. Electricity problems meant we had to shift between rooms, which was a real hassle. When we raised the issues, the receptionist seemed confused and couldn’t help effectively. The rooms looked old and poorly maintained, and the lodge needs serious maintenance and refurbishment. Management should deal with these problems before taking bookings. This was a very disappointing stay.

A terrible experience. The place was dirty, there was no hot water or tea, and the restaurant and bar were closed. There was only one TV channel, and no outdoor bins.

The food was absolutely awful, and there was no warm water at all. Most of the chalets had air conditioners, but only one was working. I’ll never recommend the Lodge again.

At R1500 a night, I expected much more. The property is run down and falling apart, and it didn’t look anything like the online photos, which seem to be from 20 years ago.

The location in the beautiful mountains of Tzaneen is lovely, and there are plenty of rooms to choose from as well as enough swimming pools. Service is exceptional. Phone reception is poor, but there’s free wifi.
