The area is good, but the place has a lot of issues. The shower pressure was awful, and there was no outside lighting. On cold nights, the lounge fan only worked with the bright light on, or it was off with no light. We also found someone’s dirty socks on the couch.

The beach is very close, but the house made for a really unpleasant stay. My bedroom smelled mouldy and damp throughout the holiday, whether the windows were open or shut. The bathroom cupboard was mouldy too, the curtains and window seals had black mould, and I couldn't use the bedroom cupboard because the smell was so bad. Water sat in the shower because it wasn't draining properly. The floors were dirty when we arrived, and the bed linen in my room was old, yellowing, and felt sandy. Housekeepers only came on our third day. They were rude, didn't replace the dirty towels, and accused us of taking one of their brooms. I also found an unused condom behind the nightstand in the room where I was sleeping, which made it clear the cleaning hadn't been done properly. I wouldn't recommend this house for a peaceful stay in Umhlanga. There really wasn't much pleasant about it.

There was mould in the shower, on the walls, and in the cupboards, and the main bedroom shower was blocked with lots of sand. The owners or management were rude and derogatory. A horrible experience.

The accommodation was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful, with the beach less than a kilometre away. You can walk to nearby amenities too. Highly recommended.
