Fairview Bed And Breakfast - Double Room 1

We had a group of 20 and never felt crowded. It's a friendly, homely place, lovely for relaxing and having fun. Each room has its own bathroom, TV, bar fridge, balcony, and everything needed to keep you entertained if you want privacy. The pool is right outside your door. A wonderful experience, it really feels like a holiday!

I can't comment on the price since I didn't make the booking. The room looked good at first, with two big beds and a huge bathroom featuring a rain shower and a spa tub like a jacuzzi. It also had a big TV with good channels, plenty of closet space, an iron and ironing board, tea station, towels, air-conditioning, and parking. There's a remote gate, taxi route access is easy, and the neighborhood is safe and very quiet. I assume there was no backup generator, as I experienced the usual two-hour Loadshedding. The condition raised concerns about housekeeping. The tub looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned, or may have been misused: there were soap stains on the controls, dirt around the bubble motor holes, and what looked like paint or adhesive smudged around the drain. I didn't want to try it. The bathroom window looked dirty, the blinds seemed never to have been opened, and the sink was dirty, with grime on the silicone along the wall. The mattress on the bed we used had stains. I told myself they were probably sauce, not blood. The inner had several spots that had turned brown, so I assume coffee had spilled. The bar fridge was a bit loud, and its freezer had so much ice that it seemed faulty or had never been defrosted. The room is right by the parking lot, with a sliding door to the parking and another door into the inside passage leading to other rooms and the upstairs stairs.

I usually stay in hotels or self-catering places, so a bed and breakfast was a very different environment for me. The owner was sweet and pleasant, always smiling, and the room was cosy, nice, very clean, and comfortable. The noise from another guest's child meant I couldn't sleep properly. It was the kids' noise that got to me. Otherwise, it was great, but I love my sleep and quiet.

I value my privacy, so being given that courtesy away from home was really fulfilling. The Bed and Breakfast was neat, and I loved everything about it. It was a beautiful experience. Phiwe, the owner, is a welcoming and really friendly guy who makes you feel at home.
