Blue Ocean Dive Resort

We spent two nights there and absolutely loved it. The rooms combine old-world charm with modern touches, and the restaurant food and atmosphere are FANTASTIC! The dive center was well organized too. There were people around to offer advice, help with forgotten gear, or share information about the dive and Aliwal Shoal diving in general. The tags for personal kit were a brilliant idea.

We came from Athens with a team of 12 divers from Seahorsedive dc, visiting Africa for the first time. Natasha and her team made the trip unforgettable. She was always polite, cheerful, and available, answering our questions, sorting out obstacles and problems, and taking care of every detail. The atmosphere was relaxed, and all the staff were impressively friendly, polite, and helpful. The dive center was clean and well organized, and could accommodate even the most demanding diver. Our tidy, spacious rooms had beautiful views and a romantic feel that only Africa offers. The food was absolutely delicious, and the daily plans were adjusted to the weather to give us the best options while keeping safety a priority. We got to dive with sharks, dolphins, turtles, nudibranchs, and potato groupers, and saw a huge variety of marine life. We also enjoyed a three-day safari and the Big Five. It was a dream come true. We went as customers and left as friends. We definitely recommend Natasha and her team, and we’ll be back!

The diving was great, especially the shark encounters. I saw a bit of everything, including bulls, though I missed the great white by a week. Chris did a great job managing our eclectic group. The dive support was professional and made everything easy. Our gear was set up with our names on it, they had tools for any tinkering, and they moved everything on and off the boat for us. My room was lovely, spacious, cleaned every day, and had very hot water. The restaurant food was good and it seemed to be a hub for people in the area. I had a great few days there. Check-in was friendly and personal, and Turner even offered to carry my suitcase, despite my warning that it was a bad idea with all the wine and dive gear inside.

This was our second visit, and we’re already planning to come back every year. The diving is incredible, with expert dive masters, skilled skippers, and amazing marine life. We saw blacktip, whitetip, bull, and reef sharks, plus mantas, rays, and colorful schools of fish. Macro enthusiasts will love the nudibranchs and even the tiny millimeter-sized creatures, great for photography and video. The resort is just as good. The apartments are modern and comfortable, with new bathrooms, air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. The food is delicious, and a 10-day diving trip is surprisingly affordable. I highly recommend it!
