Ocean Park Guest House

We enjoyed the full English breakfast, and the rooms were neat and spacious. We were welcomed warmly, and the shower and toilet area was wonderfully large. There's a minibar, pool and bar, though the minibar and bar weren't for us. We did use the pool. Cold showers were the main problem. The water was cold on our first evening and the next morning, and the geyser still hadn't been repaired by days two and three. The double bed was short, and the pillows were too soft even after fluffing them up. Some improvements are needed before we'd return.

I stayed for seven days and ordered almost everything on the menu. Dinner was fantastic. The guest house is clean and very nice, with a poolside bar and restaurant. Breakfast is Western style, with eggs cooked to order and beef or pork sausage links. The owner was the nicest man, originally from Italy, and has been in Africa for many years. If you're going to Umkomaas, I'd certainly suggest staying at Ocean Park Guest House.

We were there for work, so didn't get to enjoy the swimming pool and other facilities. The rooms were beautiful, with a lovely shower, a stoep and comfy chairs I loved sitting in. We had dinner at their Italian Flair Restaurant and really enjoyed it. They also packed us lunch each day, which we appreciated.

Guido is fantastic, friendly and accommodating. The place is quiet and relaxing, with a cosy setup that includes a lapa, braai, bar and pool. It's a bed and breakfast with continental breakfast and a restricted supper menu. The clean rooms have ensuite showers, stocked minibars charged according to the tariffs, DStv and complimentary tea and coffee. Lovely, neat and tidy, and well worth another visit.
