At Blue Banana Lodge in Mthatha, I had a lovely stay. It was peaceful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Great value for money ❤️❤️ I’d highly recommend it.

The staff were friendly and tried to help where they could, but the food was the issue. There wasn’t much variety, and it was poorly prepared and didn’t taste good. The rooms themselves are beautiful, neat, and cozy.

To the owner, I’m sharing my disappointment about our stay, not trying to fight with you. My friend was with me, and it was her first time in Mthatha. She isn’t even from EC. We weren’t happy with the service, which is why we wanted to cancel. If we’d been satisfied, cancelling wouldn’t have crossed our minds. We were willing to lose some of the money, but unfortunately we would have lost all of it because we paid a third party, not you. The place was clean and looked beautiful, as it does in the pictures. But please try to have a backup. On our first day there was load shedding, which I understand, but there wasn’t even a stove as a backup to heat water. After a long drive, we had to bathe in cold water. The second day was fine. On the third day, the electricity was back, but we waited an hour for water. Because of the time, we asked your ladies for bathing water. The one lady in completion offered us a bucket and told us to get the water ourselves from the tank. I should have read the reviews before booking. If I had, I definitely wouldn’t have booked this place.

The rooms were crusty and a bit run-down, and the owner kicked us out for hanging out in the room with our driver. We then waited a few hours for our refund. The place felt as dodgy as its name suggests. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re stranded, and I wouldn’t choose it if you want a decent rest.
