Imimangaliso Guest House

A quiet, lovely guesthouse with really good service. The bed was comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean, right down to the fresh sheets.

The beds were super comfortable, and the rooms were spotless. I also felt safe there, and the staff were very friendly.

We left after the first night, even though we had paid for two. My aunt had booked the stay while we were in uMtata for a funeral, but we didn't feel safe or comfortable enough to stay on. There was no front desk, so no one was available for us to complain to at night or early in the morning. Getting into the property took a long wait on our first night. Inside, it didn't feel like a B&B: the kitchen was dirty, and our room was small, stuffy and very hot. The bathroom and toilet were shared. As women unfamiliar with the other guests, we weren't comfortable leaving our room in nightwear to shower or use the toilet. Flies and cockroaches were around during the night, too. The bedding added to the discomfort. The fitted sheets didn't fit, there was no mattress cover, and the duvet set wasn't white, so we couldn't tell how clean it was. We slept on top of it instead. There was only one guest towel for two of us. In the morning, we packed up and found somewhere else to stay. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The room was nice and clean, and the sheets were white, which I liked. It felt a little uncomfortable being in the part of the house where the family stays. The toilet and shower are shared. The area felt safe, so I think your car should be fine there.
