The complex itself is beautiful, but it’s been run as a below average guesthouse. We booked directly through the official site on the day, and paid more than we would have at similar places because the dinner, bed and breakfast option appealed after a long drive. On arrival, we were told meals were no longer served. They first offered a partial cash payment for us to eat elsewhere, but in the end we got the full difference between room only and the two meals they’d charged us for. The room had what looked like leftover toiletries from previous guests, including half-used toothpaste. The TV remote had no batteries and there was no remote for the smart TV. Between two of us, we were given four different towels. Wilfrid did try his best to sort everything out, but it just wasn’t acceptable. Would I stay again? No. Recommend it? No.

The Maxton Boutique Hotel is in a quiet residential suburb, still close to town and Kalahari Mall. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. Just be aware that it isn’t a full-service hotel, there’s no restaurant on site.

Sorry, I forgot the name of the guy there, but he was so friendly and helpful. His good energy makes the place awesome 😎 They also offer free chair massages 💆‍♀️ 😉 👌

The staff were friendly, and the location is central, but at this price I’d have preferred a hotel. The towels smelled awful once used, and the upkeep needs work. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rooms are just okay, and it was quite cold on a winter night even with the aircon switched on now and then. It also made a loud noise. They don’t serve breakfast, instead they give you a cash voucher, but I only found that out after asking what time breakfast was.
