Zonneweelde Guest House

The bed was good, but the rest of the room didn’t feel worth the price. It was pokey and poorly ventilated, with dilapidated furniture. There was water dripping through the passage ceiling lamp, and the bathroom had no glass for rinsing your mouth or soap. Not a good experience.

The old building is lovely, with beautiful old furniture. Everything was neat and clean, the staff were friendly, and I had a good night’s rest. I can definitely recommend it.

I stayed there for work from October 2018 to 13 January 2019. My company had paid in full through 23 January 2019, but at noon, while I was at work, I got a call telling me to vacate immediately because they’d double-booked the room. I explained I was on site and could only come to clear it at 4pm. They threw my belongings into black rubbish bags and left them at reception. When I collected them, all my food had defrosted and some belongings were missing. I’m appalled by how I was treated after giving them so much business, and I won’t be recommending them to anyone any time soon.

On a cold, snow-covered mountain evening, Zonneweelde had everything I needed. The bed and bathroom were clean, the welcome was friendly, and breakfast was delicious and ready early the next morning.
